
For Prospective Students
Our laboratory conducts research on vernacular architecture, architectural anthropology, environmental design, and community-based projects in Japan and Southeast Asia. Students are expected to engage in fieldwork, interdisciplinary research, and international collaboration.
We welcome both Japanese and international students who wish to pursue master's, doctoral, or research studies in our laboratory.
Applicants should contact us by e-mail with the following documents at least one month before the preliminary consultation deadline.
・Research proposal (2 pages, A4)
・Statement of motivation (1 page, A4)
・Portfolio including previous research projects, publications, and design works
・JLPT N1 certification is required for applicants taking the entrance examination in Japanese.
・Applicants taking the entrance examination in English must demonstrate English proficiency at CEFR B2 level or above.
During or before the preliminary consultation period set by the university, we will have an online interview to confirm the appropriateness of the research and language proficientcy.
In the case of research students, the following conditions will be added.
・has will to study at graduate school of our university
・N2 grade if you take the entrance exam in Japanese
・If you take the entrance exam in English, you have to have CEFER B2 or higher
Students who do not meet the above requirements will not be accepted.
